Coaching for men who are stuck, stalled, or running on fumes.

Most men don't call because they're sad. They call because they're stuck: in a job that's going nowhere, in a week that runs them, or in a short fuse they don't like. LifeSketch gives you straight talk, a plan you can actually run, and someone in your corner while you work it.

What is coaching for men?

A plan, accountability, and someone who gets it

Coaching for men is one-on-one help getting unstuck in work and life. A coach helps you figure out what you actually want, build a plan and a weekly routine to get there, and holds you to it. It's practical and forward-looking: less talking about feelings for their own sake, more figuring out what's in the way and what to do this week. It isn't therapy, and you don't need to be in crisis to start.

A lot of men were taught to handle things alone. That works until it doesn't, and by then the stress usually shows up somewhere else: work, sleep, temper, or the people at home. Getting help early is a strategy, not a weakness.

Sound familiar?

What men tell us on the first call

  • I'm not depressed. I'm just stuck. Not in crisis, not okay either.
  • I've lost my drive. You used to want things. Now you just get through the day.
  • Work is eating everything.Long hours, no margin, and home gets what's left.
  • I snap at people I care about. Then you feel bad, and it happens again.
  • I should be further along by now.Comparing yourself to other guys your age.
  • I don't really talk about this stuff. This call might be the first time.
What's under it

What people see, and what's usually underneath

Men often show stress through action, not words. The behavior is real, and it's usually a signal of something you can fix.

What people seeWhat's often underneath
At workWorking all hours, or barely engagedNo clear direction, or a job that doesn't fit
At homeShort fuse, checked out, on the phoneOverloaded, no margin, nothing left at the end of the day
MotivationProcrastinating, numbing out, "lazy"Bored, burned out, or no goal worth chasing
ConfidenceDefensive, avoiding risksA setback, a layoff, or years of feeling behind
FocusDisorganized, forgetting thingsToo much in your head, sometimes ADHD
How we help

Get clear, then get moving

Get clear

Sort out what's in the way

  1. Name the real problem

Is it the job, the week, the energy, or something heavier? Getting this right saves months.

  2. Decide what you want

Career, family, health, money. What matters now, not what you were supposed to want at 22.

  3. Pick a target

One or two goals worth chasing, so your effort has somewhere to go.

Get moving

Build it and run it

  1. A week you can actually run

A simple weekly plan and routines that don't depend on willpower or mood.

  2. Accountability

Someone checking in, every session, on what you said you'd do.

  3. Wins you can see

Small, real progress that rebuilds confidence and drive.

Anger, mood and relationships

When it's more than stuck

For a lot of men, stress comes out as irritability, anger, overworking, drinking more or pulling away, not as sadness. Those can be signs of burnout, but they can also be signs of depression or anxiety.

If that's what's going on, counseling is the better first step, and it's nothing to be embarrassed about. Colorado residents can see Caleb Elder, MA, LPC, in person in Littleton or online. More on counseling for anxiety and depression →

Questions

Men's coaching FAQ

What does a men's coach do?

A men's coach helps you get unstuck in work and life. You get clear on what you want, build a plan and a weekly routine to get there, and get held accountable while you do it. Sessions are practical and focused on what you'll do next.

Is this therapy?

No. Coaching is about direction, plans and follow-through. Counseling treats anxiety, depression, anger and relationship stress. Colorado residents can see Caleb Elder, MA, LPC, for counseling at LifeSketch.

Do I have to talk about my feelings?

Some, because stress and frustration are part of being stuck. But the focus is practical: what's in the way, what you want, and what you'll do this week.

I've never asked for help before. Is that normal?

Very. Many of the men we work with are calling for the first time. The free call is low pressure: you tell us what's going on and we tell you honestly what would help.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis?

No. Our coaching is ADHD-friendly, so it works well if you have ADHD or suspect you might, and many clients have no diagnosis at all. What matters is the trouble with starting, planning and following through, whatever the cause.

How much does it cost?

A 90-day coaching season is $3,500, or three monthly payments of $1,200. The Job Search Accelerator is $4,500 for about six months of coaching. The self-paced ADHD Career Change course is $197. Counseling in Colorado is $160 per session. The first call is free.

Is coaching online?

Coaching is online from anywhere, or in person at our office in Littleton, Colorado, near Denver. Counseling is for Colorado residents only.
