Lost your confidence? Rebuild it on evidence.

Getting let go, passed over or rejected for months wears on anyone. Pep talks don't fix it, because confidence follows proof. We help you find the evidence you already have, own your story, and stack up new wins until you believe it again.

Why did I lose my confidence?

Confidence follows evidence, and setbacks erase it fast

Work confidence is your belief that you can do the job and get the next one. It drops after a firing, a long job search, a bad boss or years of feedback that you're not living up to your potential. Each setback is evidence against you, and your memory holds onto it. Rebuilding confidence means collecting the evidence on the other side, telling the story accurately, and creating new wins on purpose.

Most people we work with aren't short on ability. They've stopped being able to see it. Once they can name what they've done and what they offer, interviews, applications and hard conversations get easier.

Sound familiar?

What lost confidence sounds like

  • I don't feel qualified for any job, even my current one.Imposter feelings, even with a good track record.
  • I got let go and haven't recovered. You keep replaying it in your head.
  • I talk myself out of applying. You're rejecting yourself before anyone else can.
  • I freeze in interviews. You know your stuff until someone asks.
  • Everyone else seems to have it figured out.Comparison makes it worse.
  • I've heard I'm not living up to my potential. For years, from teachers, bosses and family.
What actually helps

Rebuild the evidence, then the story

Step one

Collect the evidence

  1. List your wins with specifics

What you did, for whom, and what changed. Numbers where you have them. Most people find more than they expected.

  2. Write one line about what you offer

"As a [title], I help [employer] with [problem] by [approach]." One sentence you can say out loud.

  3. Ask three people when you're at your best

Other people notice strengths you stopped seeing. Their answers are evidence too.

Step two

Own the story and stack wins

  1. Tell the setback accurately

What happened, what you learned and what you'd do now. Owned and brief beats hidden or over-explained.

  2. Swap "what's wrong with me" for "what's not working"

Most stuck people have a broken approach, not a broken self. The approach can be fixed.

  3. Set up one win a week

Small and real: a sent application, a coffee chat, a finished project. Confidence grows from proof you keep making.

Confidence and ADHD

Why it hits harder with ADHD

Adults with ADHD are more likely to have been fired, underemployed or told they're careless, and rejection often stings harder. Years of that add up.

The fix is the same, with more structure: write the evidence down where you can see it, and build a weekly routine that keeps producing wins. More on ADHD coaching →

Questions

Confidence FAQ

How do I get my confidence back after being fired?

Start by writing down what you actually accomplished in that role, with specifics. Then write a short, honest version of why you left and what you'd do differently. Finally, set up small weekly wins in your search. Confidence follows evidence.

Can a coach help with confidence?

Yes. A coach helps you see the evidence you already have, put your strengths into words, prepare for interviews and keep making progress. Confidence grows from all of that.

What is imposter syndrome?

It's the feeling that you're not as capable as others think and will be found out, even when your record says otherwise. It's very common, especially after setbacks or in a new role.

How do I talk about a gap or a firing in an interview?

Briefly and without apology: what happened, what you learned, and why you're a strong fit now. Practicing it out loud with a coach takes most of the fear out of it.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis?

No. Our coaching is ADHD-friendly, so it works well if you have ADHD or suspect you might, and many clients have no diagnosis at all. What matters is the trouble with starting, planning and following through, whatever the cause.

How much does it cost?

A 90-day coaching season is $3,500, or three monthly payments of $1,200. The Job Search Accelerator is $4,500 for about six months of coaching. The self-paced ADHD Career Change course is $197. Counseling in Colorado is $160 per session. The first call is free.

Is coaching online?

Coaching is online from anywhere, or in person at our office in Littleton, Colorado, near Denver. Counseling is for Colorado residents only.
